So we [finally] had Dagyn's Baptism this month and it went beautifully!  Her cousins, Morgan & Macie came (they are the 2 in the lavender dresses) and that really put a smile on her face.  Dagyn and Morgan have been best friends since the day they were born.  With only 8 months apart they are quite the 2 peas in the pod.
Since we moved and haven't seen much of her lately, I bent the rules a bit and let Dagyn have a sleepover with Morgan.  It went quite well.  We had some deep discussions on the Gospel about The Creation and [of course] Baptism.  The girls made BFF friendship bracelets with one of the gifts Dagyn received from her Nama, who also came to her Baptism.
We also had a wonderful visit afterwards with my Aunt Janett & Timmy who we wrangled into taking Dylan home for us since we took on the extra passenger for the sleepover ;) and didn't have room for all of us.
....yes, I know what you are thinking...
...YOU NEED a 12 Passenger Van!...
...believe me, we are aware of it and looking!...
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that Devyn was such the warrior brother, standing up with Dagyn at her side as she sang a song from the pulpit ...I Feel My Savior's Love.

Here is Paul Cardall's version...it's beautiful....almost as beautiful as when Dagyn sang it.  I only wish there was a way I could have recorded her.  But since we do not allow any recordings or photography within the Chapel, you get to enjoy this version as a sweet substitute...
I love Paul Cardall's music.  We often use his CD to help our children relax during Quiet Time &  Bedtime.

Dagyn & Chris quickly suited up & jumped into their white jumpsuits.  I had only a brief moment to capture them both right outside the Primary Room so the picture isn't of the best quality there is...sorta looks like a camera phone picture.  Oh well, they are both just such beams of light and I couldn't go without sharing this special moment between them.  She is truly Daddy's little girl!
Dagyn's Grandma, Carol gave a wonderful talk on Baptism, reminding us that all who seek eternal life must follow the example of the Savior by being baptized and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.  And making clear that the ordinance  must be performed by one having priesthood  authority and that it must be done by immersion.

She also made reference to our Baptismal Covenant by being members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, stating: Those who are baptized enter into a covenant  with God to take upon themselves the name of Jesus  Christ, keep His commandments,  and serve Him to the end and that as church  members we renew this covenant each time they partake of the sacrament (see Mosiah 18:8–10; D&C 20:37;  D&C 20:77, 79).
Those who keep the covenants they made at baptism are blessed by the Lord for their faithfulness. Some of the blessings include the constant companionship of the Holy  Ghost, the remission of sins, and the privilege of being spiritually reborn.  If we continue faithfully, we are  promised eternal  life (see 2 Nephi  31:19–20).

We've covered the beauty of the story...now the comedy...

These are the Many Faces of Daxyn that I captured one evening at dinner...no, I don't usually eat dinner with my camera in my hand.  But, I did risk breaking the cardinal rule that there are no toys at the table for these wonderful shots just for you...Enjoy!
And before I end, I want to say that we now have a 5 year old living in our house that is probably the most happiest boy in our community!
Happy Birthday Dyxon!!!  Your family loves you so much and we are so grateful for having you in our lives....you remind us to bring the song out in all of us!!!!  Keep singing sweetheart!

He is a little tired in these pictures...since we did take them right after he woke up and got dressed.  He was much more interested in the "surprise" in the front room rather than waking up and having breakfast!

Here is a video clip of Dyxon riding his bike...
and yes folks....that's a 16"-er!
I just {LOVE} the little grunt he lets out when he first takes off!

See...just like I said,
The Happiest Boy in our Community!

Why this blog post posted twice is still beyond me....

But every time I have attempted to remove it...it removes the original post....ah, Boo!

And so we endure it.

Our little Butter Bean is growing so rapidly.

In counting, here are a few highlights of what he has accomplished this last month:
  1. wearing size 12-18mo clothes
  2. wearing size 5 diapers
  3. easily eats 2 jars of baby food
  4. favorite foods:  Sweet Potatoes & Sweet Peas (however, I think at times he would rather eat the food we are eating)
  5. does the Army - or G.I. Joe - Crawl
  6. says: Mama, Dada, Baba & Ah-boo (& seems to know what they mean)
  7. can pull himself up from sitting to a standing position (just did this today!)
  8. favorite snack: Mum-Mum & Graham Crackers or Cheerios
  9. cut in his bottom 2 teeth last month & is now working on his top 2
  10. loves to play Peek-a-Boo & Patty-cake (& can do the clapping on his own)
  11. loves to clap when he hears his brothers and sisters cheer for him
  12. loves to have his "bink" & be cuddled by his big sister, Dagyn to be put down for nap-time

I'm sure I am forgetting a few more things.  Since he has grown so quickly in these past couple of months, that it won't surprise me if I have.  If I do remember anything afterward, I will just come back and add to the list.

We are so happy to have his little spirit here in our home.  He is such an added blessing to our family and we wouldn't have it any other way!  Thank you for choosing us for your family Daxyn.  We love you little... er, um... I mean, BIG guy!

Here are a few Christmas-time shots of the family put into a slide show that I forgot to post (amongst numerous other posts waiting in cue).

Exactly 2 months ago (June 25)  we added another blessing to our family.
He has grown so much and is such a cute little chunky monkey, covered in rolls and chub.  Chubby legs, chubby arms, chubby knees & elbows but who can resist the mention of his chubby cheeks and his dimpled chin?  Not a one in this family!

We are so blessed to have him!
Thank you Heavenly Father for trusting us with yet another one of your beloved sons.

This Sunday past, we had the privilege of witnessing yet another wonderful miracle.  The ordinance of a "blessing and a name" for this sweet man child.

Photography by Jess Leonard
A couple weeks ago, Daxyn had his portraits taken by two wonderful friends of ours, Jess Leonard & April Sayre, at two different shoots.
Both sets of portraits turned out amazing.  They are both such talented women.

Jess is a natural light & an on location photographer and April has her own studio equipment and is also an on location photographer. I highly recommend them both if you are needing a photographer.

Based upon the lack of posting one might think that we've fallin off the edge of the earth.  Not so.  Although, that doesn't mean that there hasn't been any falling going on around here.

This past weekend, I fell into this (except it was completely empty):

You see, early in the morning a couple Saturdays ago, Chris (with the help of Devyn) had set out to finish draining the pool and fill it with fresh sparkling clean water while I was in hopes to catch a few extra zzz's and sleep in.

Denym was quick to interrupt that idea for me.

Since she woke up earlier than expected, I managed to dress her in a 1/2 dazed slumber and brought her outside for the 2 guys to watch her while I re-entered the house to make a quick breakfast of a toasted frozen waffle and a sippy-cup filled with milk.

Upon my return...(I was wearing flip-its, mind you) I took 1, then 2 steps into the then empty pool and slipped, bouncing off of my tail-bone from the second step, then falling onto both knees at the bottom of the pool and 'not so softly' landing on my right shoulder.  Granted, I was very bruised up and became stiff and sore for the entire week (Still dealing with sore knees ~ so much for kneeling at prayer) but all is well with me and baby.

Oh, and I would be short to not include that with the fall my immune system became compromised and my allergies flared up!  Now all week I have been toting around my little apothecary basket filled with benadryl, chili pepper nasal spray, allergy eye drops, tissues, an albuterol inhaler & lip medex for the 5 (yes, 5!) cold sores I have developed.

Although such a thing might have brought me down, I have managed to survive yet another trial.  Even though I would much rather be outside right now playing at the park with the kids!

More to be posted later about our New Garden we had set up that afternoon on the day of the fall....or not!?

I bet you are all chomping at the bit wondering..., "What the Earth are they going to name their baby boy?"

Keeping in mind that there is certain criteria in coming up with the {perfect} name for a baby in this family {i.e. starts with a "D", has a "y" in it and if to match the other children's names...it probably should be only 5 letters}, we took the advice from a few wonderful friends:

Thanks Rachel for reminding us to trust our feelings and that we would know the right name by it harmonizing with us.

And to Amy &Teal for taking the challenge into their own hands and suggesting some "new" names we hadn't even considered!

...If it wasn't for them, I just know we would still be in a pickle.  And I did NOT want to be "that mom" who hadn't a clue what her baby's name was even after he was born.  You see, I like to personalize the whole experience for "all" of us by referring to my children {as early as in the womb} by their first names.  I'm not alone on that, I hope...?

Okay, Okay...on with the name already...I know you want to know...
So here it is...
Our new addition to our family will be known as:

Daxyn Hewitt Greevers
(as the Warthen's put it:  like Jackson with a D}

You see, it just harmonizes with us!
And Chris is super excited that he can refer to him as "Dax"!

There you go...Now you know.
