I Can Sustain The Prophet

An LDS Family Home Evening Lesson

Some time ago, one of my children were asked to give a talk in Primary on sustaining the prophet.  I cannot recall all the details but, I most likely whipped these pictures out the morning of the talk.  No surprise there. That was me before I thought I needed to use a calendar and actually plan my schedule.  I did however surprise myself with finding out that I had actually saved them.  And that makes me happy...because now, I get to share them with you!

These visual aids are to be used for a lesson in FHE or in Primary.  I have made this available FREE for you to use as a way to testify of my support and my sustaining of the Prophet, President Thomas S. Monson as well as for the seers and revelators of our time.

These visual aids are for personal use only.  Thank you.

If you would like me to send you a copy to your email, please comment below with your email address.  I am happy to send you a printable copy.

We all have trials and tribulations in our lives.  We all have loved ones who care about us dearly and want to do their best to help us during these difficult times.  But, have you ever struggled with how to share bad news with those you love without the repercussions of having them worry about you?

What if the stress of knowing that they are worrying about you will cause your personal struggle to be even more difficult?  What do you do?  Do you share the news with them or do you keep it to yourself and ride it out until things improve just focusing on your personal trial?

Now, what if that struggle has to do with your health?  And your health depended on little to no stressors in order to become stronger...healthier?

There have been many of you that have been wondering where I have been, inquiring of my health, and even others requesting an update. Well, I am now strong enough to sit at this computer and type out what I have been struggling with these past couple months.

We are pleased to announce the birth of our baby boy, Daltyn Everett Hart Greevers.

Daltyn Everett Hart Greevers (3 days old)

Daltyn was born at home December 11th on my maternal grandfather's birthday at 3:49am. He weighed 10 pounds, 4 ounces and measured at a length of 23 inches long...our biggest baby yet.

He is doing well and is a very happy & healthy baby. He nurses well too and sleeps often allowing his momma plenty of rest.

We had a Christmas/New Year celebration in Nevada this year, along with a trip to Red Rock Canyon where we took the kids and my brother, Matt to do some climbing at the Kraft Boulders in Calico Basin.

I'll admit, it's been a long time coming. Things await our family that will effect our future generation. A merge of time: Past meet Present. Present please carry on to our future what relationships we build today.
In the meantime, I'll catch up on some reading.

Well almost. Our sweet baby girl will be 5 months this week. I cannot believe how quickly time flies. It just seems as though I labored to deliver her in our home with Chris there by my side only yesterday. I am so blessed to have her join our family. Thank you snuggle bug for choosing us for your family!

Lately, I have joined a few new homeschooling groups online. And, I noticed I am finding myself introducing our family on somewhat on a regular basis. So, I thought I would write up an introduction and post it to our blog to kill 2 birds with one stone: My Introduction & a link to our Family Blog. :)

I am sure things will change as life progresses and then I'll need to make updates. Until then...

Introduction:
(Sorry for the repeat, for those of you who have already heard my story)

We are a homeschool family that follows and teaches by the Thomas Jefferson Educational methods; a Leadership Education. We collect and read a lot of classic literature together. We enjoy hiking, camping and rockclimbing in the great outdoors. We have recently become more knowledgeable in canning and preserving and have plans for a box-garden to grow our own fruits and vegetables. We are currently working on the structural plans of a chicken coop to house 6 hens, which we plan to make in our woodshop-converted portion of our garage. (UPDATE: we finished our chickie's coop and our hens are laying on average 4-6 fresh eggs per day. Yum!)

We recently have been enjoying beautifying our new home, which we have lived in a full year this past July 2012.

We consider our family to be a 'Posse' and currently have 8 (now 9) Deputies:

~ 19-year-old son with Autism (more specifically, Asperger's Syndrome) who enjoys reading fantasies, acting and drawing;

~ 12 year old son (soon to be 13) who is deep into the military and hunting (he was drawn for & went on his first elk this year);

~ 9 year-old daughter that loves to draw, write, dance & sing and who I believe is part fish during the warmer months of the year;

~ 7 year-old son who has just become highly interested in archery and one day has plans on building his own hot-rod right before he joins the military;

~ 6 year-old son who knows he will someday be an engineer & fly his own plane, right after he is a farmer of course;

~ 4 year-old daughter that not only inspires to draw like her big sister but shows a keen interest in beauty and fashion (more specifically mom's makeup & shoes);

~ 2 year-old son that loves mud, cars, tractors & trains (oh and don't forget milk!);

~ our son, born in Sept 2011 who awaits us in heaven;

~ and last but not least, our newborn daughter, our 'rainbow' baby, who joined us in October :)

Be sure to call your Representative and let them know your thoughts on this...
  1. The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) won't stop infringement.
  2. It endangers all sites by making them liable for users' posts.
  3. It's a job killer. Many tech companies that today employ thousands would never have started if SOPA was law.
  4. It gives comfort to regimes that censor the internet.
Note: the House's censorship bill is SOPA, but the Senate's is called "The PROTECT IP Act" or "PIPA".

"I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep." (John 10:11)

The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
... He maketh me to live on less sleep:
He leadeth me through the noise of many voices.
He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me to teach
The right lessons each day, for His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of undone
Laundry and kitchen messes, I will fear no evil:
For thou art with me, my teacher's guides and
Answer keys, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence
Of threatening school officials and critical family members:
Thou anointest my head with heavenly wisdom, my cup runneth over.
Surely educated and godly children shall follow after me
All the days of my life: and I will dwell again one day
In a clean house with the Lord forevermore.

Wow!  This may very well make you want to re-evaluate your parenting.
