Here are a few Christmas-time shots of the family put into a slide show that I forgot to post (amongst numerous other posts waiting in cue).

The Boy is officially Eleven! Yesterday marks the day that we have been blessed for the past 11 years with such a remarkable child. Devyn, once again, you have proven to be such an exceptional addition to our family! And what a remarkable date too, One, 11, Eleven! And on this date, 1-11-11, you became 11. Definitely a date to remember! We truly are blessed! Implementing our new guideline for gift giving... 4 Gifts A Want A Need A Wear A Read This was a date to remember. You had been wanting to go see Tron and needing to spend some one-on-one time with Mom... so we took off and saw TRON in 3D. And what a fun time we had watching and discussing the movie...very cool special effects...and those Tron bikes...WOW! WANT & NEED check. On the way there to fulfill your READ we stopped off and picked up the first of the book series How to Train Your Dragon All that was left was something to WEAR.
That, we had planned to go & use your Target Gift Card. On another day perhaps...we ran out of time. I really enjoyed spending time with you, just the two of us. It was like old times when we could sit and talk for hours. I love you buddy! Love, Mom. Make your goal setting S.M.A.R.T.!
I can't think of a better acronym for goal setting. But can 5 letters make for a more simplistic way to set your goals? Absolutely they can! And what a better time than now, especially when those New Year Resolutions lists are being compiled (or in some of our cases, rewritten). After saying the prayer over our peanut butter and jelly sandwiches today, this is the conversation that developed between Dyxon and myself.
Dyxon: "Mom, why do we have all this food?" Me: "Because Dyxon, we have a lot of children in our family." Dyxon: "No, we don't." Me: "We don't? So you don't think that 7 children is a lot?" Dyxon: "No." Me: "Then tell me...what is a lot?" Dyxon: "A BILLION!" Well, he's got me there. But there is NO WAY we are planning on having A BILLION children, that is for sure! This is just a sneak peek at some of the pictures our family has put together for our portion of the Christmas Picture Book that my creative & clever Mother-In-Law is putting together for a gift for all 6 of her children.
Enjoy! Devyn's Winter Band Concert (on 12/7/2010) was a hit!
I wanted to post a picture of the Concert Program but it managed to get mauled by Daxyn and really wasn't legible afterward. What is it with babies & paper? At any rate...enjoy the pictures! This first one is of Devyn with his Music Teacher, Mr. Steve McAllister. Mr. McAllister is a very accomplished musician and has played with a multitude of famous artists as well as the Phoenix Orchestra Symphony. He has a website called, Arizona Music Teacher that lists these artists as well as provides some sample musical numbers that can be downloaded onto a mp3 player. You should check it out...very cool stuff! I don't know about you, but our neighborhood woke up to a shocker this morning.
Little did I know... that, on my way home from helping my friend during her labor in the wee hours of the morning, there was a deranged man stealing a car. And then while being chased throughout the city and subsequently ended up in our neighborhood, this man lost control of the vehicle and crashed into... our friends' house. I don't know about you...But, that alone would put a huge damper in my morning! But things did not end there. Nope. I know some of you have already had the pleasure of experiencing the changing of the colors and the falling of the leaves off the trees and are now probably moving on to seeing your Christmas being 'white'. But we less fortunate souls that live in the heart of the desert are just now seeing (and for some of us for the first time) these beautiful changes and without the hopes of a 'white' Christmas, might I add. Heavenly Father sure has a wonderful way of painting his canvas with such a beautiful array of colors. I hope you are all having a fantastic Fall...!
(no matter what the trees look like that surround you) Devyn has been practicing his part and is getting geared up for his School's Winter Band Concert
